Mum: Trains stripped of loo fittings worth Rs 5L

Central Railway’s attempt to provide premium amenities to passengers is being thwarted by thieves who are targetting branded toilet fittings, including water taps and flusher valves, installed in the two upgraded Utkrisht rakes of the Mumbai division. Since March, 169 toilet fittings worth a total Rs 5 lakh have been stolen from Mumbai-Pune Deccan Express and Mumbai CSMT-Gadag Express, said officials.
