Panvel civic body to axe its Axis ties

The Panvel City Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has decided to withdraw its accounts from Axis Bank. The decision follows demands by Shiv Sena politicians to cancel accounts with the private sector bank. The corporation has fixed deposits of around Rs 25 crore besides daily transaction deposits in four accounts with the bank.
