Palghar likely to get its own 25-acre prison

The state prison department has identified around 25 acres to construct a jail in Palghar district. With a population of over 29 lakhs, the district was carved out in August 2014 but does not have a jail. Accused and convicts from the district are generally lodged in Thane central prison and Taloja central jail in Navi Mumbai
