BMC to up allocation for concrete roads by 10.5% after Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde's diktat

With chief minister Eknath Shinde issuing a diktat for all Mumbai roads to be concretized in two years, the BMC may need to substantially increase budgetary allocations for the work. Construction of concrete roads while 20% costlier than asphalt are known to be more durable.
