Mumbai: Businessman to give Mahalaxmi Temple pure gold dome

The city's Mahalaxmi Temple will be in the league of temples having domes adorned with pure gold. Oman-based businessman S Periyasamy, originally from Coimbatore, has offered to electroplate the Mahalaxmi temple dome with gold worth Rs 10 crore as part of his reverence for the deity-the holy trinity of Mahakali, Mahalaxmi and Mahasaraswati-who he believes helped him through a trying time in the city during 26/11.
