Maharashtra farmer suicides shot up in 2022

Despite the state announcing the biggest loan waiver scheme and initiating a series of measures to tackle agrarian crisis, 2022 was a bad year for farmers as 2,942 farmers committed suicide between January 1 and December 31, 2022, against 2,743 last year during the same period.
