Heavy rain lashes Mumbai; yellow alert issued

The city woke up to heavy rain activity on Tuesday morning as rainfall recorded in the 24 hours ending 8.30am was seen nearing the three digit mark. The rainfall recorded between September 12-13 by the IMD Santacruz observatory was 93.4mm. In comparison the IMD Colaba observatory recorded lesser rains of 59.2mm in the same period.
