Maha home dept suspends IPS officer in extortion case

The state home department on Tuesday suspended IPS officer Saurabh Tripathi, who went into hiding in the last week of February after his role in extorting money from angadias or traditional couriers became evident. Three junior cops have already been arrested in the case and are in custody.
