Malik divested of portfolios, but to remain in Maha cabinet

NCP minister Nawab Malik, currently in jail following his arrest in a money laundering case, has been divested of his portfolios and his status as guardian minister of two districts. The decision was taken during a meeting at NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s residence on Thursday and comes following an outcry from the opposition seeking his ouster.
