2 boys drown in 5ft pit full of rainwater dug for MIDC work in Thane's Ambernath

Two children drowned in a pit dug that was dug to lay a water pipeline at Ambernath on Wednesday. The bodies of the boys, Suraj Rajbhar (7) and Sunny Yadav (8), were found in the rainwater-filled trench late evening. The state's industrial body, MIDC, is getting the work done in the locality and the job has been outsourced to a private contractor.
